Prashant Shah Managing Director TiE LaunchPad. He has been an early stage venture investor since 2001. He is an active Charter Member of TiE Silicon Valley and a member of its Board of Directors. He also helped launch TiE Angels and is on its Steering Committee. Previously, he spent nearly 10 years at Hummer Winblad Venture Partners and was instrumental in many investments including Baynote, Bridgestream, Cenzic, InMage, Jareva Technologies, Krillion, Pancetera, Scalent, and Voltage Security. Prior to Hummer Winblad, Prashant spent many years defining and launching high tech products. His background spans all seven layers of the OSI stack with product management roles at enCommerce (acquired by Entrust), Cypress Semiconductor and AT&T. In addition, he was on the Board of Trustees for Astia from July 2007 to April 2011. Prashant received a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and an MBA from the University of Chicago.

Terri Mead Active Angel Investor/VP Sand Hill Angels Silicon Valley. Terri regularly advises startups on their pitches, business strategy and connecting with the right people. Terri focuses on investing in companies that have products or services that improve peoples’ lives including MyHealthTeams, Sandstone Diagnostics, TomboyX, Zum, Tactical Haptics, and most recently Tueo Health. She is passionate about supporting, and advocating for, female founders and investors.

MODERATOR: Kevin Smith Founder/CEO The Vault, a collaborative accelerator and innovation hub in San Francisco and other cities, and the founder and CEO of Seedchange, an early stage investment firm based in San Francisco. Earlier in his career he led product development, drafted financial regulations and launched the iShares business in 5 countries. He also spent 5 years practicing corporate law at Davis Polk in Silicon Valley, led global implementation of consumer focused brand management at Levi Strauss and co-founded Russia’s largest strategy and organizational development consulting firm. In no particular order he’s also been a high school French teacher, software salesman, college Russian instructor and author of a book on sales in Russian. He’s helped write laws in 3 languages, been thrown out of Belarus, given a speech in Spanish to the Colombian Stock Exchange, and finished 4 marathons without passing out. Kevin is a graduate of Vanderbilt, Berkeley and Stanford Law School and studied in France, Germany, Russia and the Czech Republic.
